Welcome to Porsche Tucson

Many years ago, I was at Johnny Ramone’s house with Nicolas Cage, Eddie Vedder, Lisa Marie Presley, and the great Johnny Ramone. Nick and Lisa Marie were dating, and at the time, Eddie and I were Johnny’s two closest friends. I would have said I was his best friend, but Johnny’s wife always seemed to have a strong preference for the bigger stars and was really pushing Eddie on Johnny. In any case, we were playing truth or dare, and it was getting late. Eventually, Johnny and his wife went to bed, and the rest of us stayed up real late as things got weirder and weirder. I don’t drink, but Eddie and Nick certainly did. Around 4 a.m., things finally exploded, with Nick throwing one of Johnny Ramone’s giant taxidermy animals into the swimming pool. Nick was too drunk to drive home, and he was yelling. Johnny was wearing pajamas. Somehow I ended up responsible for driving Nick’s 1973 Porsche 911 RS out of Johnny’s driveway and back to my house, where I kept it until the next day. Within 24 hours of driving that incredible car, I bought my own 1973 911 RS in Light Yellow. It’s in The Brown Bunny for a few seconds. Two months later, after selling my two Lamborghini Espadas, I bought another 73 RS in Brown. Eventually, I moved on to Ferrari and began a long journey of buying and driving several new Ferraris. In 2017, I woke up one Sunday morning and realized I could no longer live in Los Angeles for another day. That night, I picked out a beautiful Rick Joy-designed house in Tucson, Arizona and purchased it. At first, I brought a few Ferraris with me to Tucson, but without a Ferrari dealership in town, owning a Ferrari became less enjoyable. So I decided to buy another Porsche. Porsche of Tucson is a great dealership. The sales managers, Efraim and Samantha, have always treated me well, and Samantha Bell is, without question, the coolest woman I have ever met inside a car dealership. But the real star of Porsche of Tucson is Andrew Stevens. As I said, I love the Porsche brand, but the reason I own and drive a Porsche is Andrew Stevens. He makes buying and owning a Porsche fun and easy. There is no better ambassador for the Porsche brand than Andrew. Porsche executives should thank their lucky stars that he is representing their brand. Hopefully, the Chapman dealership owners also appreciate what they have in him as much as I do. And one final footnote: There was one creep in the service department who was the only weak link in an otherwise perfect dealership. Thankfully, he left and was replaced by a superstar named Reed. Porsche cars are only part of the story. The people who sell them and service them make a difference.

Got a new key

Courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt are words that come to mind concerning the Tucson Porsche service department. The word “inexpensive” does not come to mind, but the best never is. Recently my Macan S was in for wheel refinishing and I was given a new Macan courtesy car. You won’t get that extra touch at the cheaper competitors.

I just picked up my 2026 Porsche Carrera 911T today from Porsche Tucson. I worked with Dylan Young and I could not have had a better experience. From Dylan’s patience with me going over every detail of the spec to the delivery process, everything was perfect. He outlined the process and kept me in the loop the entire time. There were no surprises and I will definitely recommend and plan to work with Dylan and Porsche Tucson again. I had a fantastic experience.

I brought my Porsche to this dealership for service and had a good experience. The service advisor was attentive and helpful, and the service was performed competently, as expected from Porsche trained technicians. They could not access my previous service records for the car so (I guess logically) recommended every service in the book, although they did state that the service may have been done recently at another dealership. My only disappointment is that the new tires installed on the car were overinflated relative to factory specs. That’s easy for me to correct - so in the end no harm done. I am overall happy with the service and will likely return next year for annual service
